Y-Tex Livestock Identification

y-tex_logoThis program allows FNA members to access a wide range of livestock identification products direct from the manufacturing plant of Y-Tex Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture of quality livestock identification and pest control systems.

 

HERD ID TAGS
Members have a wide variety of tag choices from Y-TEX. All tags are made with an advanced polyurethane compound for a softer, more flexible tag.  The flexible buttons and Snap-Lok collar prevent snagging and increase retention. The tags can be applied with most taggers eguipped with a Y-Tex pin.  Tags are available blank or with any number or custom design you need.  They also come in a wide variety of colours.  Call FNA for more details.

• Cattle – most popular; LG, MED, SM, MINI sizes

• Swine – Square, Round • Sheep • E-Z-AP – low cost and high retention; LG, MED, SM sizes

RFID TAGS
The new Y-TEX RFID tag has been totally re-engineered. A new unique transponder provides superior read distance and performance especially when there is a large amount of metal or electrical interference. Retention and durability are second to none thanks to the tamper-proof Snap-LokTM collar. The new RFID tag weighs only 6.42 grams, a 38% drop in weight! The tags are packaged in tamper-proof bags by themselves or with as a matched set with a Large or Medium tag.

FLY TAGS

30% Superior Cattle Block

Recommended Application:

This 30% Low-intake block is designed to go head to head with the low-intake blocks from the US.  (Crystalyx, SmartLic, Bovalyx etc.)  With lower cost/tonne, no animal byproducts & lower intake it is one of the most cost effective blocks on the market in Western Canada.  Use in late summer when pasture conditions decline.  Use in winter feeding if roughages are of poor quality

20% All Natural Protein Block 

Recommended Application:
A versatile all around block.  No animal protein sources.  For beef cattle.  Used for fall grazing & winter feeking, precalving and post calving until turned onto grass.

14% Block High Energy Block

Recommended Application:
Designed to be used in place of grain and range cubes.  Excellent for the use in weining calves.

Product:
5:5 Mineral Block

Recommended Application:
Use for beef cattle on summer pasture or when protein is not an issue.  Can be fed year round.

8:8 Mineral Block

Recommended Application:
Use for beef cattle on summer pasture when grass tetany is of concern or at breeding time.  Can be fed year round.

20% Cattlemen's Elite

Recommended Application:
Use for beef cattle for fall grazing and winter feeding, precalving, post calving until turned onto grass.  Superior levels of trace minerals and vitamins.

Ewe Block

Recommended Application:
Commonly used to help improve body condition prior to breeding season, and to supplement the winter feeding program for ewes before and after lambing.

16% Stablemate for Horses

Recommended Application:
Good source of quality protein, essential macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins (B, A, D & E)

 

Many block companies spend a lot of time talking about cost/head/day of their products. Producers need to weigh the cost/head/day against cost/tonne, and the actual nutrients the livestock is getting at the recommended levels.
